I have just created a place on our blog that you will be able to see the videos that Coach Lauren has made this year. It is on the right side of the blog, under Team Videos. Click on 2017 Videos and then click on which video you would like to watch.
If you have any questions, please let me know. We will add more videos as they come along.

Information about the CRHS CC Running team (Gr 7-12) is found here. If you are new to our program, check out the information in the pull downs of the blog for more information about who we are. The posts will be about what is currently happening. For those that are considering joining our teams, our summer training is a great place to see what the sport is all about. No cost or full commitment to the team. All we ask is to give it an honest try to see if this is the sport and team for you.

Willmar Invite
Here is the information for this weekends races at Willmar, as well as the line up. The only thing for the schedule is that the first race, Girls Varsity, starts at 1:00, and then everything is on a rolling schedule. So, with that, not 100% sure what time everyone will be running. On our line up, I put rough estimate times, but do not rely solely on those.
In order to get the information, and this is something new I am trying, click on this link: Willmar Invite Details There is a map of where the meet is in Willmar as well as basic info for the meet.
To see who is racing in which race, please click on this link: Willmar Invite Line Up

Parent Gathering on Saturday, Sep. 30th
Attention Parents: We are putting together a parent get together for this upcoming Saturday, Sep. 30th at 7:00pm (or when you get back from Willmar if you are going) at Alloy in Coon Rapids, and we are inviting all of you. This is something new I would like to try to get the parents together and meet each other, as well as a chance for us as coaches to get to know everyone a little better as well. This is to be a relaxing time, but if you have ideas, please bring them with as well.
If you have any questions, please let me know,
Thanks

Mustang Griak Results
Our results for Friday's Mustang Invite and Saturday's Roy Griak Invite are now posted on the right side of the blog. There were some issues with the distance for Friday's races, so sort of guessing on the distance of the Gold races, but then also some issues with some of the timing for Saturday's races, due to the heat, so they are not official yet. Caleb's time was one of those that was missed, so not sure on his time. If you are wanting to see overall meet results, you can find Friday's by clicking on Raceberry Jam above the blog. For the Griak results, go to this link: Roy Griak Results
But, despite the heat, there were some positives from both days, mainly that the runners ran smartly and we are coming out of the weekend predominantly healthy, which could have easily been the other way with the heat and humidity that they all had to deal with. Proud of the growth that they displayed, even if it didn't show in times or places.
The weather looks like it will be much more favorable temperature wise, which should help us and give us one less thing to pay attention to.
Thanks to the Vicki and the Chesser's for helping with the Homecoming Run on Friday evening. Without their help, things would have been a little more challenging.
Thanks for all of your support on some very challenging meets this week! If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks

Lakeville Results
Today was another overall positive day for the runners as they took on some of the best teams in the State for the second week in a row. There were many that ran season or all time personal bests, with some doing some major drops in time! The course was dry this year, thus showing the runners an early season meet of where they are at and how their training is working for them. We also worked on a few newer things with the runners in trying to be more controlled in the beginning of the race and the first real test seemed to work well for most of the runner. Congrats to Paul and Peyton for each placing 8th in their respective races and receiving medals for their efforts! We as coaches are happy with the advancements that were made today, but there are still many things that can be improved on and that we will continue to work on as we move on.
Our individual results are posted on the right of the blog and you can find the overall meet results at: advantagetiming.com
Next up will be the Mustang Invite on Friday the 22nd for the JV/Middle School runners and Saturday the 23rd for Varsity at the Roy Griak Invite. We will also be putting on the Cardinal Mile on Wednesday evening (5:50pm in front of the High School), but the Boys will be doing their annual Homecoming Game Day run from the opponents school. This year the run will start at Irondale High School, with the Varsity dividing it up and doing the run as a relay, with the whole team finishing up the last mile plus together.
If you have any questions, please let me know

Denny

The Cardinal Mile
The Cardinal Mile is just over a week away and is an event that we are trying to do every year to help promote the running and other distance programs in the school to the community as well as do a little recruiting for the years to come. It is an event for everyone, all runners alike, open to the public, but one in which we invite all of the elementary age students in Coon Rapids to participate for free and with the opportunity to run with a current member of the team. The cost for everyone else is $5
We will be doing the 5th annual Cardinal Mile the week of Homecoming prior to the Parade, on September 20th, as a fundraiser and with the race just over a week away, I am trying to finalize everything, and one of those items is volunteers to help with set up and running of the event. The Cardinal Mile is on Wednesday, Sep. 20th. Registration would be from 4:30-5:30 and the race would start at 5:50, with the Parade to start around 6:00. If any of you would be able to help with the following areas of need, I would appreciate it.
3-4 to help with registration
2 to help at the 1/2 mile turn around (Crocus St)
2-3 to help at the start/finish line as well as the clock. Might also have one of you start the race
2-3 to help hand out awards to the top 3 male and female of each award, after they have crossed the finish line (no awards ceremony)
The CC Boys and Girls and I will be setting up the tent and doing things prior to, including practice, so our time might be a little tight. I am also looking for someone who might want to lead out a couple of minutes before the races to begin to let people know the race is coming as well as clear the course. A few years ago we had our assistant coach Luke Stocker ride his motorcycle, so we are needing something new this year. If you have any ideas or would like to do this, please let me know.
I think that is all for now. If I think of anything I will get it out to you, or if any of you think of anything, please let me know.
Thanks for your time,
Denny

Bauman/Rovn Results
You can find the overall meet results for tonight's Bauman/Rovn Invite by clicking onto the Gopher State Events link above on the blog. Click onto the School Results link on the top and go to CC Running. Once there, select which meet you want to see results for. Make sure you change between the Boys and the Girls as well as between Varsity/JV/Middle School to find each race. Our individual results will be on the right side of the blog.
As for tonight, it was an overall better meet for the team compared to the first meet. We did have some struggle with the hills and the warmer temps, but we did have many that ran the same or similar times, or even faster than they did last week. And knowing that this was a much more challenging course than our first and the competition was much more challenging, we felt that the runners held their own and competed. We are a young team and have a lot to still learn, but they are working hard in the races and the signs of improvement are evident, even when the times don't always show it. We still have a lot of work to do and will continue to learn more about ourselves. Next up will be the Lakeville Applejack Meet next Saturday, Sep. 16.
Thanks for those that came out and supported tonight and if there are any questions, please let me know.
Thanks
