Today was another overall positive day for the runners as they took on some of the best teams in the State for the second week in a row. There were many that ran season or all time personal bests, with some doing some major drops in time! The course was dry this year, thus showing the runners an early season meet of where they are at and how their training is working for them. We also worked on a few newer things with the runners in trying to be more controlled in the beginning of the race and the first real test seemed to work well for most of the runner. Congrats to Paul and Peyton for each placing 8th in their respective races and receiving medals for their efforts! We as coaches are happy with the advancements that were made today, but there are still many things that can be improved on and that we will continue to work on as we move on.
Our individual results are posted on the right of the blog and you can find the overall meet results at: advantagetiming.com
Next up will be the Mustang Invite on Friday the 22nd for the JV/Middle School runners and Saturday the 23rd for Varsity at the Roy Griak Invite. We will also be putting on the Cardinal Mile on Wednesday evening (5:50pm in front of the High School), but the Boys will be doing their annual Homecoming Game Day run from the opponents school. This year the run will start at Irondale High School, with the Varsity dividing it up and doing the run as a relay, with the whole team finishing up the last mile plus together.
If you have any questions, please let me know
Thanks,
Denny
Information about the CRHS CC Running team (Gr 7-12) is found here. If you are new to our program, check out the information in the pull downs of the blog for more information about who we are. The posts will be about what is currently happening. For those that are considering joining our teams, our summer training is a great place to see what the sport is all about. No cost or full commitment to the team. All we ask is to give it an honest try to see if this is the sport and team for you.
