Banquet Date Change
Due to a scheduling conflict, we had to move the banquet to Friday, Oct 13. We are still going to be at the High School cafeteria and it will be a pot luck. More information on the banquet will be posted within the next few days.

Northwest Suburban Conference Meet
Congratulations to Ruby as she earned her 5th All Conference Award yesterday at the Northwest Suburban Conference Meet. Ruby finished in a solid 13th place as she continues to come back from injury and illness, and led the Girls Varsity to an improved 8th place team finish in the 13 team conference! On the Boys Varsity, John in 49th and Nixon in 53rd, both less than 10 seconds from Honorable Mention, led the team to a 12th place finish, moving up from last year. Both JV teams also showed big improvements with 8th place finishes as well, moving up from their positions last year. Ruth led the Girls JV placing 22nd and Ben 27th and Kaiden 30th, led the way for the Boys JV.
Our Individual and a link to the Overall Results are posted on the right side of the blog. It was a beautiful weather day on a more challenging course that was hard, and our runners ended up having their best meet on the season so far. We ended up with 17 PR's and 7 additional Season Bests out of 31 runners that we had racing! Considering how fast the courses and times were a month ago where we had a lot of PR's, it shows how much work they are putting in and their improvements, not just over this year, but from where they were as a team and individuals a year ago!

Next up is a good week of training with the JK5K at Anoka on Thursday the 22nd. Just a reminder, this is a practice, not a race. We will have a bus that will take us there and bring us back, leaving at 3:15. We should be back to the school just before 5:00.

Week of the Northwest Suburban Conference Meet
Thanks to those that were apart of our Cardinal Cup races last night!! It was a very positive evening, and one that surpassed what I was thinking and hoping it would be like!! There was a lot of energy from everyone and I hope that it made it a fun night for everyone!! Great effort put in by everyone in all three races as well!!
Below is information for Wednesday, which is the NWSC Meet at the Elk River Country Club. Also, please remember that this week is also MEA, and due to the Conference Meet being on Wednesday, our workouts for Thursday and Friday will be just straight runs, so we are going to not have any organized practices those two days. We will, however, give the runners their workouts for those two days on Wednesday.

1. Total All Conference awards to be equal to two times the number of schools participating: Year 2026: The top 28 finishers in the girl’s varsity race and the top 28 finishers in the boys’ varsity race will be recognized during the award ceremony. 2. Honorable mention All Conference honors will go to the 29th through 42nd place finishers in the boys and girls varsity races.
Just a forewarning for Parking at the Conference Meet, most people will be able to park on the driving range that is north of the main lots, but some may have to park on the street that will be a little bit of a walk. This is a busy road, so if you do end up parking on a neighborhood street, beware trying to cross to get to the course. If there is any change in parking, I will let you know.
Elk River (Conference Championships): 20015 Elk Lake Rd. Highway 10 west to Proctor Ave. in Elk River , go north (right). Go 2 miles to the Elk River Country Club, which will be on the right. Additional parking will be available at Woodland Trails, just north of the Country Club.

Saturday - HOKA One One/Cardinal Cup
We are just under 48 hours from the HOKA One One/Cardinal Cup Under the Lights 2 Mile (I think I need a longer name for this! lol). Below are some reminders and final things as we head into Saturday evening. With the MS/Futures race, if there are any siblings that want to participate, they are more than welcome to. Also, if it works better to have it as a Half Mile race, we can adjust that.
For anyone that is participating in either MS/Futures or the Alumni/Parent races, please be at the track between 6:15-6:30 to get signed up.
Last, we were asked by the timer to reduce the size of the 2 Mile, so we made two heats, dividing at a natural break based on season PR's. The lists of who is in which heat is below.
Saturday: Cardinal Cup/Hoka One One 2 Mile Under the Lights Time Trial

Cardinal Cup Week; Oct 5-Oct 10
Team Pictures are on Friday, Oct. 9 at 3:30 at Thorpe Park. We are having practice at our regular time and we will walk down to the park once the Middle School runners arrive. More information on how to order will follow once I get it.
Welcome to the beginning of a new tradition that we are trying to grow, Cardinal Cup Week, with different team activities throughout the week where each team (teams listed below) can earn points to see who win the Cardinal Cups at the end of the week after the 2 Mile Time Trial Under the Lights at CR Stadium. Below are the activities for the week and I will be posting the points every evening on a page on the right side of the blog.
Cardinal Cup Team Activities
Monday: There are 2 chances for points: Pts for the first team to have everyone get there teammates to practice and a Scavenger Hunt Run.
Tuesday: Clean CR Run
Wednesday: Crazy Socks Day (mismatch pairs don't count!! lol)
Thursday: Neon Day (where as much neon as possible)
Friday: Most Original Team Picture (taken after the Real Team/Individual Pictures!!)

Cambridge Results
Our Individual results and the Overall results are now posted on the right side of the blog. Congrats to all of the runners, taking on some tough competition as well as a wet and spongy course. Top runners on the day are Ruby for the Girls, as she finished in a solid 6th place coming back from an injury, leading the Girls team to a 4th place finish out of 7 teams. On the Boys side, Tate and Nixon tied for 33rd place to lead the boys to a 7th place team finish out of 8 teams. Despite not having a separate race for the JV's due to the weather, the JV Boys were lead by Mohammed who finished in 26th and helped the JV team finish in 4th out of 6 scoring teams. Congrats also to Brecken for finishing 4th overall in the Middle School/C Race and Ruth for another top 10 finish, topping the results in 10th for the Girls.
It was a solid afternoon of running, and one we can build off of. We now get a couple of weeks off of 5K racing as we get ready for the last month of the season. Next up will be the Hoka One One/Cardinal Cup 2 Mile Under the Lights race on Saturday, Oct. 10th. The Homecoming Parade is tomorrow, Wednesday, at 6:00, with the team meeting after practice, and then the Homecoming Run on Friday from Eastview High School.

Changes for Tuesday's Meet in Cambridge
Below is some information that was sent to us during practice today. But, due to the construction, there have been some additional directions on how to get to the course. Also, due to the chance of rain all day, there has been a change to the schedule, combining races, and reducing the schedule down to 3 races.
In communication with MN DOT today they suggested we access the Purple Hawk coming from the north as there will be some potential work being done at the beginning of the site on Highway 65. Take the detour around and up to County Road 6. On County Road 6 head back to the east and enter Highway 65. Going south on Highway 65 you will be able to enter the Purple Hawk Golf Course.
