First Day, First Week of the Season
The first day of the season is here and we will be getting things going Monday morning at the CR Dam, meeting at the picnic tables behind the Visitor Center by the boat launch. The weather this first week looks positive and should be good for the training we would like to get the runners. It will be still warm and humid, so we will be watching how everyone is doing and will adjust any workouts if we feel it would be more beneficial. Also, please bring water, not only for after, but during the workouts. A good option if you don't have a running water bottle, would be the store bought 16oz waters, and to use the grip handles we handed out to last years team (we will have these on Monday for the new runners)
Here are the times and locations, though, for the first week of practice. I will be giving out a more detailed schedule as well as other information to the runners after the first practice Monday. Monday's practice will be about 2 hours long, the rest of the morning practices will be between an hour 15 and an hour and a half long. Evening practices will have a different focus, mainly recovery, weight training, and a little more fun. We understand if not everyone can make these practices due to family obligations, but they are still important practices. These practices will be about an hour 15 mins long
Also, please remember that runners need to be signed up before they can come to practices! The final day to sign up to be legal for Varsity at Sections is Monday, September1st and the last day to sign up for the season in general will be Friday, September 5th. Free and Reduced lunch are two different things. Free lunch=Free activities; Reduced lunch=activity price cut in half. The prices will appear to be the full amount until you put the item in your cart.
Please register early to avoid delaying student’s participation.
To register, every student needs to have an up to date sports physical. If the student’s physical is going to expire during the season you won’t be able to register. Bring physicals to the Activities Office or email them to Elyse.George@ahschools.us. When the office receives the physical you will be able to register online.

Week of June 23 - Summer Practices
Here are our locations for practices this week, June 23rd. One item of note for the following week, we as coaches cannot schedule or be at any of the practices for the week of June 30th and won't be able to work with the runners again until July 7th. One thing of note, though, is that the Coon Rapids Firecracker 5K is on Friday, July 4th at the CRIC. We will be in charge of the two water stops, so if there is anyone that would like to help, runners or family, please let me know, otherwise, it's a great chance to get an early summer 5K in to see where you are at!

Summer Training Begins Monday, June 2nd
Our summer training is starting tomorrow, Monday, June 2nd. We will meet at 3:15 by the bushes on the west end of the high school tennis courts so any middle schoolers intending to join will be able to. If you know anyone that is interested, have be there. It will be an easier workout since it’s the first workout but also due to the heat. 2025 Summer Running Camp
We as a Coaches are wanting to set up a Summer Running Camp that we are offering up to the whole team, and based on the previous survey, a trip to the North Shore and staying at Lutsen Mt is what we are going to try and plan. We would set the camp up for the last full week of July, starting on July 28th. Originally we were thinking of a 4 day/3 night trip, but due to the current costs of lodging and the inexperience of our team, we have decided to go with a 3 day/2 night trip to make sure we don't put too much work on the runners, especially the younger team members.
