Information about the CRHS CC Running team (Gr 7-12) is found here. If you are new to our program, check out the information in the pull downs of the blog for more information about who we are. The posts will be about what is currently happening. For those that are considering joining our teams, our summer training is a great place to see what the sport is all about. No cost or full commitment to the team. All we ask is to give it an honest try to see if this is the sport and team for you.

First Day, First Week of Practice
The first day of the season is here and we will be getting things going Monday afternoon at Riverview Park, on the north side of 105th Ave. (2420 105th Ave) The weather this first week looks positive and should be good for the training we would like to get the runners. It will be still warm and humid, so we will be watching how everyone is doing and will adjust any workouts if we feel it would be more beneficial. Also, please bring water, not only for after, but during the workouts. A good option if you don't have a running water bottle, would be the store bought 16oz waters, and to use the grip handles we handed out to last years team (we will have these on Monday for the new runners or anyone who may need one).
Here are the times and locations, though, for the first week of practice. I will be giving out a more detailed schedule as well as other information to the runners after the first practice Monday. Monday's practice will be a little longer then 2 hours long, the rest of the morning practices will be between an hour 15 and an hour and a half long. Evening practices will have a different focus, mainly recovery, weight training, and a little more fun. We understand if not everyone can make these practices due to family obligations, but they are still important practices. These practices will be about an hour 15 mins long
Also, please remember that runners need to be signed up before they can come to practices! The final day to sign up to be legal for Varsity at Sections is Monday, September 7th and the last day to sign up for the season in general will be Friday, September 11th. If there are any questions, please let me know.
If you have any questions, please let me know,
ThanksDenny

Summer Training, Week of June 29
Here is the schedule for the week of June 29. We are going to change things up a bit due to the warming trend and the higher dew points and humidity. We will also be paying attention to the runners and making sure everyone is safe and if we need to shorten or shut down a practice, we will. Extra water will be needed by the runners and I will have some more and some cold wet rags for certain days. Wednesday also could be a stormy day, so we will be paying attention to that and make and changes as necessary. Look for practices to be around an hour and 15 mins to an hour and a half.
Monday, CRHS - West end of the Tennis courts (We are intending to run on a 2 mile course so the runners can be making more frequent stops if needed).
Tuesday, Meet at Bunker Beach at 7:50am. We are going to do our workout in the lazy river during the Cardio Club. The cost this year is $11. If this is an issue, please let me know.
Wednesday, CRHS - West end of the Tennis courts
Thursday, Bunker, Golf Course Parking Lot 1
Friday, CRHS - West end of the Tennis Courts.
Thursday, July 2nd, is the 4th of July Parade and we will be walking in it to help spread the word for our team and sport. For those that will be able to be with us, please wear something CR Cross Country and we will be meeting around 5:30 at Boulevard Plaza Park, which is adjacent to CRIC, and we will be in spot #15. ALL parade participants will enter the staging area off of Coon Rapids Boulevard and Mississippi Boulevard to 109th Lane, left on Flora Street and drive into the line-up area on the Ice Arena grounds. The parade will start at 6:00.

Tuesday - CRHS West End Tennis Court Parking Lot
Wednesday - Riverview Park, North side

2026 Running Camp
We as a Coaches are wanting to set up a Summer Running Camp that we are offering up to the whole team, a trip to the North Shore and staying at Lutsen Mt is what we are going to try and plan. We would set the camp up for the last full week of July, starting on July 27th. Originally we were thinking of a 4 day/3 night trip, but due to the current costs of lodging, gas and food, we have decided to go with a 3 day/2 night trip to make sure we don't charge too much. But, we do want to know what price limit everyone has, because we want anyone who would like to be there to be able to afford it. (Cost would include Lodging, Food, and Gas for transportation, which are parent chaperones and myself driving).
Thanks,
Denny
