Pasta Parties

The long tradition of Pasta Parties the night before our meets has been allowed to continue and the captains and I have been piecing things together the past couple of days.  A few of the dates below are filled by families that would like to host, but we would like to try and get as many of them filled as possible.  There are a few parents who have done this in the past that can definitely give more details as to what goes into these gatherings, so don't feel you can't do one since you haven't in the past.  Also, unless you are wanting to, there will be separate Girls and Boys gatherings.  If you would like to host one of the openings, please let me know and I will put down your name and keep it under the Pasta Party Schedule on the right side of the blog.
There are currently 19 girls and 33 boys on the teams this year.

Sep 9 (Boys: Ludwig's, Girls:Fuller's)
Sep 16 (Boys: ?, Girls: Lowe's)
Sep 23 (Boys: Burnett's, Girls: Winter's)
Sep 29 (Boys: Dunn's, Girls: ?)
Oct 12 (Boys and Girls: Christiansen's)
Oct 18 (Boys: Demmer's, Girls: Hedlund's)
Oct 26 (Boys: ?, Girls: Demmer's)

Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks

Fundraising

We are starting a fundraising project today, in which we will be selling "Super Fan" t-shirts.  We are not looking to raise a ton of money, but we would like to make sure we have money in our account in case there is something that we need or would like to get for the runners.  Please help spread the word and pass along the link below so we can sell as many shirts as we can.  The cost is $18 for just the shirts and $22 if you would like a name on the back for the runner(s) you are supporting.

This will only be open from today, Sep 6 through Monday, Sep 13, so please don't wait!!
If there are any questions, please let me know!
Thanks

Pictures

As we start in on our meets, many of have been taking pictures and posting them on FB and there will be a few posted on the blog as well.  On the blog, just look on the right side and click on the link for Pictures and then click into any that you want to look at.  Some that were taken yesterday were by Barb S, and you can get to them here or on the Pictures page: https://barbscardinalrunskiphotos.shutterfly.com/# Password: Cardinals

District 11 Results

Our Individual Results, with a link to the Overall Results, are now posted on the right side of the blog. To switch between the Girls and Boys results on the Overall Results link, you will need to look on the upper right side of the page.

Both teams finished 5th out of 5 teams, but we came into the meet with the idea of seeing where we are at and to get times for everyone.  We are very young and experienced, so we are not going to base a ton on team placing, but look more at the improvements that the individuals are getting.  And with that, there was much improvement and already a handful of PR's (Personal Records) from the returning runners, thus showing the work they have put in and what could be possible as the season progresses.  The other nice piece that we saw today was the effort put forth by all of the first year runners.  With it being their first real race with us, they showed a lot of hard work and pushed all the way to the end.  It will be fun to see what they will be capable of through the rest of the season and if they can finish ahead of where last years rookies got to by the end of he season!!

Thank to all of the parents that did make it out.  It was a very comfortable weather day, which was much relief and one less thing that could have an effect on the runners, thus made spectating more enjoyable as well.  The next meet will be on Friday, Sep 10 at the Cambridge Invite at Isanti Middle School.  I'll put directions up for that over the weekend.

Last thing to remember is that Monday's practice will be at 6:30pm at Moor Park (Moor Park (10921  Magnolia St) (best way would be to go off of Northdale Blvd to Olive St, go south to 112th Ave and go east and it will enter the park lot.). Then, starting Tuesday we will be at 3:15 every day, meeting on the west end of the tennis courts across the street from the high school.

Thanks
Denny

Thursday Meet at Anoka

Here are the final details for tomorrow's meet at Anoka, Thursday, Sep 2.

The bus will be leaving from the front of the High School at 7:15am, so we would like for everyone to be at the High School by 7:00am to make sure we have everything we need for the race.  We will be at Anoka High School off of 7th Ave (3939 7th Ave N), on the south end of their building, near and south of the tennis courts.  You will need to park in their main lot and then walk down to the start/finish area.  For those that are new to Cross Country meets, you are allowed to be out on the course and can go from location to location to watch the runners multiple times.  This is a very fan friendly course and one can see the runners about 4 times without having to go more than a hundred yards from the start/finish area.  Make sure you are staying off of the course as the runners are going by as well. The Girls will be racing at 8:30 and the Boys at about 9:10.  There are currently no restrictions on the number of spectators and the Girls will be staying after their race to help cheer on the Boys.

For Results, you will be able to get online results shortly after your runner is done or shortly after the race is complete.  You can go to https://gtraxc.com/pages/results/results.asp and results will be updated every 30 seconds or so after the racers have been finishing.

Lastly, if you are wanting to take your runner home after the meet, you are able to, but please let me know in advance so we are not trying to figure out who may have went home already when we are on the bus.

Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny
