Information about the CRHS CC Running team (Gr 7-12) is found here. If you are new to our program, check out the information in the pull downs of the blog for more information about who we are. The posts will be about what is currently happening. For those that are considering joining our teams, our summer training is a great place to see what the sport is all about. No cost or full commitment to the team. All we ask is to give it an honest try to see if this is the sport and team for you.
Because we are in a thunderstorm watch until 9, and then possibly rain beyond that, we will cancel this morning. (Which means everything will stop in a half an hour!! Lol ) If you can, after the storms pass, get out and do the workout for today.
Evening practices are still a go, Girls at 5:30 at ARCC, Boys at 7:00 at CRHS.
Thanks
Denny
Below are some links to apparel that the captains put together. It is a little different this year and if you are wanting one of each that you would need to do different orders (a little snafu that happened). However, in order to get the apparel back sooner, they will be do in 1 week, August 30th.
One thing of note, we will be doing a Fan Shirt this year as a fundraiser, so if you are a parent wanting something for this season, that order will be coming on Labor Day so the runners can approach their friends and teachers at school, as well as family.
Any questions, you can let me know and I can get them onto Julie, the captain that put this together.
Thanks
Denny

Below is information for practices and events happening during the 2nd week of practice, the week of August 23rd. A couple of things of note for the end of the week. For those that are coming with on Friday to the Game Show Battle Room, you will need to have a waiver filled out. I have attached it below and if you can have it taken care of before we get there, it will save time. Also, Saturday's workout is not mandatory, but one that we would still like as many as possible at. It is at Elm Creek in Maple Grove (directions below), and we will be on a longer run/hike (very slow running pace) for about an hour and a half, to work on the overall endurance but also some hills as well. Carpooling will be a good option for those that will need rides.
Lastly, we will have a brief parent meeting on Thursday evening at about 5:40 before the Team Time Trial at Riverview Park. I will go over items for the season that may be different from the past as well as information about the upcoming weekend.
Practices: (Most workouts should take between an hour and 15 minutes and an hour and a half unless otherwise noted.)
On Tuesday evening is the Girls Annual Bike and Run. This is a fun team bonding activity that the Girls have done for years. The Girls will chose a partner, chose a costume or theme, and then they will alternate running a mile and biking a mile with their partner until each has run and biked 3 miles. They will go from AR towards the CR Dam on Mississippi Blvd. and parents can come out a watch as well. It's a fun time for the Girls and they do it together.

Due to the heat, high dew points and humidity today, we are cancelling our evening practices. Also, we will be changing the Girls practice on Friday to 8:00am, the same time as the Boys, as well. We should be done just before 9:00am tomorrow to help beat a bit of the weather.
Lastly, please remember to let me know tomorrow (Friday) if you are intending to be going to the team bonding activity next Friday.
Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny
Here is a link to a Nutrition Assessment if you have questions or concerns on your runners diet. This will be posted also on the side of the blog under Health and Nutrition. This information will be kept confidential and a reply will come from Coach Lauen once analyzed.
Here are the times and locations for the first week of practice. I will be giving out a more detailed schedule as well as other information to the runners after the first practice Monday. One thing to note, which will be for more than just this week, is that other than Monday morning we will be staggering the start times for the Girls and Boys. We are doing this to keep the group sizes down and allowing more space but also to help the girls get to know the girls and the boys get to know the boys. Once school starts and we go to just afternoon practices, start time will be 3:15 and everyone will be together.
We will have exercise bands that we will assign to everyone for some of our strength training. We ask that these are taken care of and brought to practice every day. We will want them returned at the end of the season as well.
If you have any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
