For Thursday, there is only one race for the Middle School runners at 3:30, Boys JV is at 3:50 and Girls JV is at 4:20.  For Saturday, we are in the Maroon Division for both the boys and the girls races.  Start times are 9:00am for boys and 9:45am for girls.  Please note that at both races, pets are Not allowed.

One other item of note, the Girls team will be wearing Pink uniform tops for both days and the Boys will be wearing Black tops with their Red Shorts.

Lastly, for the Varsity that will be running on Saturday, we would like for them to come with on Thursday for support and to get their workouts in at the JV meet location. If they are not able to come with, we would like to be notified so we can let them know their workouts.  With Saturday, we would like those that raced on Thursday to come with as well so they can see and experience the atmosphere and races.  There will be races throughout most of the day, with close to 200 high school teams competing in 4 races.  We won't stay all day, but if you would like to stick around and watch the rest, it's a good day of racing! Thanks

Week of Sep 7

Good Evening and Happy Labor Day Weekend! Hope everyone is enjoying the day!!  Here is some information for the upcoming week as we start back to school.

Practice Monday will be at 6:00pm on the West end of the Tennis Court Parking Lot.  Then, starting Tuesday we will be on our school schedule for practices, where for those at the high school, we will meet at the weight room at 2:25, unless otherwise stated, and then everyone will meet at 3:10 on the West end of the Tennis Court Lot, giving the Middle School runners time after school to get ready.  Expect practices to last until about 5:00 every day we have practice.

Thursday this week, September 10th, is our next meet, the Bauman/Rovn Invite at Gail Woods in Minnetrista.  Directions to the course are below, but know that they are always posted in the Parent Handbook on the right side of the blog.  Bus time is 1:45, with the HS runners getting out at 1:25 and MS runners at 1:20 (I submit names for everyone to get them excused). Once I get the time schedule, I will get that out to everyone.  In the past, the first race starts at 4:00 and the last one at 6:30, so expect this to be a later evening for getting home.  Runners are allowed to go home with parents, but we need notification from a parent prior to the meet and we would like for the runners to stay until their teammates have completed their races.

If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

District 11 Meet Results

Our Individual Results and the Overall Meet Results are now posted on the right side of the blog.  Two of the Boy's times did not make it into the Overall Results, but I am working on getting those fixed.

A positive step to start the season however.  Congrats to Ruby for taking 3rd overall in the girls race!  Temps were rising and got warmer as the day went on.  It wasn't a perfect day, and was actually rough for some of the runners, but it is something of a starting point for everyone and one that we can all build off of as we head into next week and the rest of the season.

Friday's practice will be at 8:00am at the High School.  This is the annual Donut Run, so if the runners want a donut, they will need to bring money with, as they will run to a local Donut Shop.  We are going to also have the Captains in charge of this workout, giving the team a break from us Coaches!! :)

Monday's practice will be at 6:00pm at the High School to allow those that may be out of town the chance to not have to rush back.

Starting Tuesday, practice for the season will be at 3:10pm on the West End of the Tennis Courts, unless otherwise stated.  However, for only those that are at the High School, we will be weight training after school at 2:25, so please meet at the Weight Room.

Thanks to everyone that came out and supported the runners this morning!!

Meet/Schedule Changes

As mentioned recently, the Waconia Invite was moved to Thursday, Sep 24, and with this move we canceled the Chisago Lakes Invite.  Since then I have been able to add a meet for the MS/JV runners on Thursday, Sep 17, the St Francis Invite.  These two changes are updated on the Schedule on the blog.  Also, I received information on the Section 7AAA Meet and they changed us to the morning session, with the first race now starting at 11:30am.  This change is also shown on our schedule.
Sorry for all of the changes,
Thanks,
Denny

Meet Schedule Change

There have been a couple of changes to our meet schedule due to date change from what I was originally told.  The Waconia Invite has been changed to Thursday, Sep 24, and due to this we took the Chisago Lakes Invite out to give those running at Griak more time to recover.  Thus, we currently have an opening for our JV/MS runners where Waconia had been.  I am currently working on getting another meet put in, and once I have confirmation I will get that information out as well.
Thanks and sorry for any issues this may create,
Denny

Week of August 31, 2026

There are a few items in this post, so please read through the whole post.

The team apparel put together by the Captains is due in one week, Sep. 6.  Here is a link to what can be purchased.  Please remember that these are optional items:
To help with those putting together food for the pasta parties (which there are still openings, please look through them), if your athlete(s) has any allergies, can you please fill out this form.  This will also help with the end of season banquet: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdZZesbmaXlI8krcHqYgxskvxmy4WiGxLZ7jtxK6LcJlM6z5w/viewform?usp=sf_link

The plan for practices is to be done by 5:00 Monday through Wednesday.
Third Week (Aug 31-Sep 4)
Monday: 3:10pm, CR Soccer Complex (Near Recycling Center)
Tuesday: 3:10pm, CRHS, West end of Tennis Courts
Wednesday: 3:10, CRHS, West end of Tennis Courts
Thursday: District 11 Meet, Bus leaves at 7:00am, First race at 8:30, Second Race at 9:15
Friday: 8:00am, CRHS, West end of Tennis Courts
Workouts for the Week:

Thursday is our first meet of the season and it is on the south end of Anoka High School.  The Bus will be leaving at 7:00am from Door 3 of the High School and will return to the same location after the races are completed, getting back a little after 10:00.  The Boys will be racing at 8:30 and the Girls will be at racing at 9:15.  Everyone will be racing 5K and you will be able to see results online shortly after your runner finishes.  Once I get the link for the races, I will send it out

As for spectating, this is a good course to see the runners in a couple of spots without having to do too much running.  It will be a two lap course with the start and finish being in the general same area.  They also highly recommend that no dogs are brought onto the course.

Also note, we will meet at 6:00pm on Monday, September 2nd for practice, west end of the Tennis Courts, to allow those heading out of town for the weekend the opportunity to get home without rushing.

Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

2026 Time Trial

Thanks to all that came out last night to support our runners and our Alumni that came to participate!  Even though the team numbers are not as high as we would like them to be, last night was one of the bigger groups of fans that we have had!  There was a lot of positive energy and the runners put forth solid efforts to start their seasons!! The results are posted on the right side of the blog under Results.  There were a couple of mixed up times at first, but thanks to the Photos Wade took at the finish (which are on our Facebook page), I was able to unscramble a few that were throwing off the finish times! If you also took pictures, or videos, and would like them posted on our blog, please send me a link and I will get them out there for everyone.

Thanks again for all the support!
Denny

Workouts for the Week of August 24, 2026

Here are the times and locations for our practices this week, as well as a link to the workouts.  Expect practices to be about an hour and a half long.

We will be handing out uniforms on Tuesday morning at 10:00am (this is the time that works with the equipment managers).  Please enter through the main doors and take the hallway to the right towards Door 3 to get downstairs.  The floors in the cafeteria will be being waxed on that day, so we need to stay out of this area.  We can set up with those that are new and are not sure where to go, a partner so they can not feel lost.

On Tuesday evening will be the annual Bike and Run from Anoka Ramsey CC.  This is a fun, costume workout that usually turns competitive, with each runner having a partner and alternating every mile for 6 miles running and biking (each will run 3 miles and bike 3 miles).  Parents are welcomed to come watch and cheer on the runners.  The course will go down Mississippi Blvd towards the CR Dam and back.  I will have the course details for everyone on Tuesday evening.  We will want everyone in the AR parking lot near the baseball field by 5:45.

Also note that the team time trial is this coming Thursday (open to alumni to compete in as well!!).  We will start at 6:00pm, and at this time, due to smaller numbers on the team and alumni that are currently coming, we will run the boys and girls together, with our alumni as well.  We would like to have the runners at Riverview Park by 5:15 for warm ups, but then we will also have a quick parent meeting at 5:45 for an introduction and to be able to answer any questions.  Here also is the address for Riverview Park (Parking is on the south side of 105th, we meet on the north side):  2420 105th Ave NW

(Aug 24-28):
Monday: 8:00am, CR Dam; 6:00pm, CRHS West end of Tennis Courts
Tuesday: AM, On Your Own; 5:45pm, -10:00am Uniform Handout, CRHS Basement; Anoka Ramsey Community College (Bike and Run)
Wednesday: AM, On Your Own; 6:00pm, North Side of Riverview Park
Thursday: 8:00am, North side of Riverview Park; 5:15, North Side of Riverview Park (Time Trial)
Friday: 8:00am, North side of Riverview Park (note change of location)

Pasta Parties

The long tradition of Pasta Parties the night before our meets is a great way for the runners to bond but also a great way for our parents to see what a great group of student/athletes these runners are!  We have started putting together this years schedule and there a few of the dates on the schedule that are filled by families that would like to host, but we would like to try and get as many of them filled as possible.  There are a few parents who have done this in the past that can definitely give more details as to what goes into these gatherings, so don't feel you can't do one since you haven't in the past.  If you would like to host, don't feel like you need to host both the Boys and Girls teams, you can just host one or the other.  If you would like to host one of the openings, please let me know and I will put down your name and keep it under the Pasta Party Schedule on the right side of the blog.

Thanks!
Denny

Change for Wednesday Evening

On our schedule I had Gear West coming to our Wednesday evening practice for a shoe testing/sizing, but unfortunately they will not be able to make it tomorrow. We will still have our workout, just not Gear West. If I’m able to get them to come another night I will let everyone know.
Thanks!

First Day, First Week of Practice

The first day of the season is here and we will be getting things going Monday afternoon at Riverview Park, on the north side of 105th Ave. (2420 105th Ave) The weather this first week looks positive and should be good for the training we would like to get the runners.  It will be still warm and humid, so we will be watching how everyone is doing and will adjust any workouts if we feel it would be more beneficial.  Also, please bring water, not only for after, but during the workouts.  A good option if you don't have a running water bottle, would be the store bought 16oz waters, and to use the grip handles we handed out to last years team (we will have these on Monday for the new runners or anyone who may need one).

Here are the times and locations, though, for the first week of practice.  I will be giving out a more detailed schedule as well as other information to the runners after the first practice Monday.  Monday's practice will be a little longer then 2 hours long, the rest of the morning practices will be between an hour 15 and an hour and a half long.  Evening practices will have a different focus, mainly recovery, weight training, and a little more fun.  We understand if not everyone can make these practices due to family obligations, but they are still important practices.  These practices will be about an hour 15 mins long

Also, please remember that runners need to be signed up before they can come to practices!  The final day to sign up to be legal for Varsity at Sections is Monday, September 7th and the last day to sign up for the season in general will be Friday, September 11th.  If there are any questions, please let me know.

If you have any questions, please let me know,

Thanks

Below are the Practice Times and Locations for the first three weeks of the season.  We as coaches understand that it is still summer, and vacations may still be scheduled, and we will be understanding of these, but we also want to make sure that the runners are getting themselves ready for the meets and the whole season.

One other item of note, we will be using the Anoka County Parks that are in our community, so please make sure you are supporting these parks and purchase a Park Pass so entrance into the parks is seamless.

Summer Training - Week of July 27

For this week of our summer training, which is the last that we as coaches can be a part of until the season starts, a bunch of the runners, myself, as well as a few parents, will be spending the first 3 days of the week on the North Shore getting in some training.  For the rest of the team, there are will not be a scheduled practice for those three days, but we are still recommending that you get the workouts in that are posted.  There will be scheduled practices on Thursday at Bunker, Golf Course Parking Lot 1, at 8:00am and Friday at CRHS at 8:00am.  From that point on, until the season starts, the captains will organize practices.  Reminder that the season this year starts on Monday, August 17!  Please watch for information as we get closer, but also make sure all Physicals are up to date now and that everything is ready to go through the registration process (I have not heard when registration opens, it may actually be open already.).

If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny
