Thanks to all of the parents and fans that came out this morning to watch the runners get the race season going! It was a beautiful weather day and a positive start to our season. Times fit pretty close to the training that the runners have been getting in with lots of room to grow and improve. We are hoping now that we are getting back into a school routine we can get everyone caught up and get the work in that they need. Overall Team places might not have been where we think we can be at this moment, but we will learn from the race and get stronger as the season grows!
Congrats to Ruby for finishing 2nd Overall in the Girls race!! Kendall also worked herself into a top 15 spot as she is moving up the ranks quickly! On the Boys side, Lachlan was our top runner as he finished in 15th in a very strong field, with a few boys that could be fighting for top 10 finishes at the State Meet later this year.
Next up will be the Cambridge Invite on Friday, Sep. 8th. I'll will post more info about the races early next week.
Lastly, we will still be practicing on Friday, Sep 1 at 8:00am at the high school, but, due to the high temps all weekend and on Monday, we will be canceling practice for Monday evening. We will be back to practice on Tuesday after school at 2:30 (middle school runners will meet at the tennis courts after their school gets out) in the weight room.
