Section 5AA Results

Congratulations to all of the runners today as we had our best overall meet of the season at the Section 5AA Meet.  As our season came to an end, we as coaches are proud to see the work put in during the season come to a high point.  Of the 36 runners that finished today, 20 of them ran all time Personal Records while another 11 ran Seasonal Records for themselves!!

The Boy's Varsity led the way for the program as they finished in a solid 4th place overall with Noah Christiansen, 23rd as the first Cardinal to finish.  Our top 5 boys finished 31 seconds apart and all 7 Varsity boys finished under 18 minutes for the 2nd year in a row.  The Boy's JV had a solid race finishing in 10th place overall led by Aaron Casey who was 37th out of 446 runners!!  The Girl's Varsity continued to fight and improve and moved up to 13th as a team with Ilsa Hoaglund leading the way running an all time best time and finishing in 46th place.  The Girls JV got the honor to be the last race on the season for the Cardinals and with all 3 girls running season PR's to help end the season on a high note!  Congrats to all of the runners on a positive season!

Thanks for all of the support from everyone today and on the season!

Section Info and Line Up

Below is a link to the information for Thursday's Section 5AA Meet at Anoka High School.  This will be the last meet for most of the team, but also the opportunity to qualify for the State Meet at St. Olaf on Saturday, Nov. 2nd.

Section Information - PLEASE READ

Those that qualify for the State Meet will be the 1st and 2nd place teams, as well as the 8 fastest runners that are not on those two teams.  The weather is looking like temp wise will be perfect for fast times, hard to say if it will stay dry or not though.

Here is the line up for Thursday's Section 5AA Meet.  Also, we are needing one person (or two to split the races) to help with crowd control during the race.  We would like to have one for the Girls race, and one for the Boys race, but if we only have one that will be fine as well.  Let me know if you would like to help.
Thanks
Denny

ABC 3K and Practice for MEA

Here are the start times for tomorrow’s 3K at Greenhaven Golf Course in Anoka:
Girls at 4:00
Boys at 4:20ish
This is a laid back run, not a meet that we are counting towards anything. There will be no results or awards and we will be using this as a workout to work on things for next week.

Also, here are the times and locations for practices for the rest of the week since we do not have school on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday: Bus leaves the high school at 9:00, heading to Anoka High School for workout. We will not be doing the JK5K this year, just a workout.

Friday: 10:00am at the high school

If there are any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Denny

Conference Results

Congratulations to Noah Christiansen, Michael Smith, and Andre Kemboi for earning All-Conference Honors yesterday at the Northwest Suburban Conference Meet.  Peyton Martinek and Reed Smith both earned Honorable Mention as the top 5 boys on the team finished within 22 seconds of each other and helped the team finish in 3rd place in the 14 team meet!  Sarah Eichstadt was the top member of the Girls team finishing in 51st as all of the runners dealt with wet and muddy conditions throughout the race.  Great job to all of the runners!!  Our Individual and the Overall results are now posted on the right side of the blog.  Thank you to all that came out and supported the team in another wet weather day!!
Thanks,

NWSC Meet

Here is the time schedule and line up for Thursday's Northwest Suburban Conference Meet at the Elk River Country Club.  Just a forewarning for Parking at the Conference Meet, most people will be able to park on the driving range that is north of the main lots, but some may have to park on the street that will be a little bit of a walk.  This is a busy road, so if you do end up parking on a neighborhood street, beware trying to cross to get to the course.  Also, with the predicted rain this week, it is possible that the golf course says "No" to anyone parking on the driving range.  If there is any change in that, I will let you know.

Elk River (Conference Championships): 20015 Elk Lake Rd.  Highway 10 west to Proctor Ave. in Elk River, go north (right).  Go 2 miles to the Elk River Country Club, which will be on the right.  Additional parking will be available at Woodland Trails, just north of the Country Club.

Schedule:
3:15 Girls Varsity
3:55 Boys Varsity
4:35 Girls JV
5:15 Boys JV
6:00 Awards

Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks

Thundering Royal Elk Results

Our individual results and a link to the overall results are now posted on the right side of the blog.

Today was a big overall step forward for the team and many of the individuals.  The Boys team for both the Varsity and the JV teams finished in 4th place with our top 5 Varsity Boys all finishing within 35 seconds of each other, all under 18 mins for the first time this season, led by Noah Christiansen in 18th place.  Aaron Casey (10th) and Ryan Powley (15th) led the way for the JV as the depth of the Boys team starts to really grow. Nolan Hazelwood was our fastest in the middle school finishing in 20th place

The Girls team also had its best meet of the season and showed a lot of overall improvement with the top 3 Girls all running season PR's and finishing 22 seconds apart, led by Ilsa Hoaglund.  Kendall Martinek (8th) and Keria Dickens (15th) were the highest placing individuals on the day as they competed in the middle school race.

Great job by all today, still room for improvement, but we saw a different mentality in the team within their races and they were really fighting to do the best they could today, and it was fun to watch!!

Tomorrow, Friday, will be picture day at the CR Dam for our practice.  We will be meeting at the Dam for our practice in which we will take our team and individual pictures first (please bring uniforms), and then we will do our workout.

Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks,
Denny

Venue Change

Due to the amount of rain that we have received in the past couple of days, the venue for tomorrow's meet has been changed.  We were at Fox Hollow Golf Course but we are now going to be at Prairie Park in Otsego.

Here is the Address for Prairie Park:
13355 90th St NE, Otsego, MN 55330

For getting to the park, go to Elk River on Hwy 10 West, exit and take Hwy 101.  You will then exit onto County Road 39 and go west to Nashua Ave NE and take a left and the park will be on your right a short distance after you get onto Nashua. (Not sure what parking is going to be like)

As of right now, everything else will be the same.

If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny
