Osseo Results

Our Individual and a link to the Overall Results are now posted on the right side of the blog.  I will update the Season Best list in the next couple of days.

Despite the warmth from the humidity today, it was another positive step and improvement for both the boys and the girls teams.  We ended up with 10 Personal Bests and 8 Seasonal Bests, with a number of others that were close on their times, which says a lot for how hard they worked not only today, but for the whole week.  Team placings are starting to show more for it as well, with the Girls Varsity taking 8th out of 13 teams and the Boys Varsity 13 out of 22 teams while Boys JV was 11th out of 18 schools.  That's a big improvement and shows we are moving in the right direction, but we still have some work to do and we know the runners that we have are able to move up more, we just need to continue to make it fun and have patience with them all, and if they are ready, they will show us.

Next up will be the Team Time Trial, the Cardinal Cup/Hoka One 2 mile on Wednesday evening at Cardinal Stadium.  Originally we have it scheduled for 8:00pm due to high school conferences, but we are going to bump it up to 7:00pm so that the runners can get home sooner and get some food in them to recover before they need to go to bed.

Two other items of note, a reminder for the runners that for practice tomorrow they are to get ready right after school and meet outside of Door 3 of the high school (old main entrance) at 2:30.  Middle Schoolers will meet in the regular area when they get to practice.  Also, we had an optional practice for Saturday morning, but we are going to call that off due to the work they have done this week and that they had to do a lot of that in the heat.

Thanks for all of those that made it out tonight!

Transportation for Osseo Invite

I was notified late this afternoon that as of right now we do not have a bus for the Osseo Invite tomorrow, Thursday.  This may change tomorrow, but due to the bus driver shortage, we are going to need to set up parent transportation.  Please fill out the form in the link below by your child's name to let us know if they have a ride, and if so who and if there is room for other, or if they need a ride.  We want to make sure everyone can get there, and if we need to find rides, the sooner, the better.  I am also re-posting the meet schedule for anyone that it would be easier if they could show up later.  We do want everyone to arrive at least 55 mins before their race so they can get ready.  If you have any questions, please let me know,
Thanks,
Denny

Milaca Results

Sorry for the delay's on getting a link out for today's results at Milaca, but I hadn't been able to pull them up until just now. Here is the link though: https://gtraxc.com/pages/results/results.asp?meet_id=669 You will need to scroll through the different races to find everyone.

But it was a fun day to be back up at Milaca and to see the excitement of running! The weather was a little cool at first and overcast, which made for great running conditions, even though the course was a bit soft. And to top it all off, everyone that ran for us today had either an all-time Personal Best or Seasonal Best in their distances! Everyone was relaxed and just ran, and everyone did great!
Thanks to all of those that came out to watch and for those that took and shared their pictures.
I will work on getting our individual results out on Sunday some time. Thanks, Denny

Griak Results

The links below are the overall results from tonight's Roy Griak Invitational at the U of M.  I will add our individual results later in the weekend.

https://crm.pttiming.com/uploads/projects/537/BoysMaroon.pdf
https://crm.pttiming.com/uploads/projects/537/GirlsMaroon.pdf

This was a solid evening for the Boys and the Girls, with the Boys running many times similar to last week and a big improvement on the Girls side with 4 running PR's and most of the rest running near PR times or faster than they did last week at Lakeville, which says a lot considering how much harder this course was.  The Boys finished in 32nd out of 50 teams and the Girls were 38th out of 45 teams.  They places don't show the improvement of the team, but they are getting stronger.

Next up is Milaca, bus leaving at 7:30am tomorrow (Saturday) morning, and then the Osseo Invite at Elm Creek on Thursday.

Thanks and glad to see so many out tonight at the meet!

Griak and Milaca Information

Below is the information for both Friday's Roy Griak Invite at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St Paul, and Saturday's Milaca Mega Meet at the Stone's Throw Golf Course in Milaca.  For Friday, we were just notified today that we are for sure in the Maroon Division for both the boys and the girls races.  Start times are 5:15 for boys and 6:00 for girls.  For Friday, we are only doing the grade races, so our first race is at 10:00 am and last at 11:45 am.  Please note that at both races, pets are Not allowed.

Also below is a link to the apparel order for anyone that would like to purchase a Milaca Mega Meet shirt, long sleeve or sweatshirt.  They are doing it differently this year, and you will need to notify what you would like and give me the money, and then I will drop it off at the meet and the apparel will be sent to me in a couple of weeks.

Lastly, for those that will be running on Saturday, they will still have practice after school at 3:15, however the bus for Griak will have left by then, so they will not be able to come with us.  They are all more than welcome to come watch though.  Also, for Saturday's races, those that raced on Friday are welcome to come with for support.

Any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

For anyone that would like to order any of the apparel for the Milaca Mega Meet, please check out this link, let me know if there is something you would like to order, and then have payment by Saturday: MIlaca Meet Apparel

T-Shirt/LS Shirt Order

Due to not reaching the minimum numbers in orders with our previous apparel order, we are doing a different order through a different company.  We are, however, only going to have this available until this Thursday, Sep 23rd so that we can get this order in and back sooner.
This order will be for only short sleeve ($13) or long sleeve ($16) shirts, no sweats.
Sorry for the issues with our previous order.
Thanks,
Denny

Monday Weather

With the weather we are possibly to have today, we will still have practice. If it is just a light rain, we will be outside, but if it is storming or heavier rain then we will be inside, meeting by the ski and equipment rooms.
Thanks
Denny

Meet Line Ups for the Week

Below are the line ups for who will be running in which race this week.  Please remember that those running Varsity will be on Friday at the U of M Les Borstad Golf Course and the rest will be running on Saturday at the Milaca Mega Meet at Stones Throw Golf Course.  I will put out more detailed information later this week.

On a side note, after discussing with Julie, we will be cancelling the current t-shirt order in favor one that will be less expensive.  I am finalizing the details and hope to have the order forms by tomorrow, Monday. It will be the same design, but the time frame to order will only be a couple of days.  Once I get all of the final details I will post it, as well as send out the order forms to the runners.
Thanks and sorry the confusion and struggles with this order.  It looked like it would be a good option, but is not working in our favor.

Lakeville Overview

Our individual results with a link to the overall results are now posted on the right side of the blog.

What a difference a week makes!  More teams, more runners, still a multi lap course, with this one actually being a bit soft from all of the rain the past few days, and a few degrees cooler, but everyone was in a better mood, came into their race more positive, and it made a difference, with nearly everyone running faster than they had the week before. Overall team places in the Varsity and JV races aren't going to show high placings, but they are going to show improvement from the last meet, which is good considering there is still a lot of little things and a lot of workouts that still need to be done to get where we may be able to end the season on.

Both the Boys and Girls Varsity teams were short handed, but both were able to finish in 18th place and were faster as a team than last week.  It still is far from our best, and in fact on the Boys side we were faster our first meet, but we've been doing some harder workouts, so the legs may not be at their best.  The JV Boys were able to grab a 14th place finish with a lot of runners that are still inexperienced and learning what their race pace is and the best way for themselves to get through the miles.

The C Races were where we put a lot of our runners, mainly due to the age of our teams and that many of them have not had many races against other runners that are near their age.  We wanted to give them a different experience of racing, one in which they may be in a different place within the race and to possibly contend for individual and team titles.  Well, I think the plan worked out pretty well with the Girls winning their race that had 14 teams in it and the Boys coming in 3rd out of 20 teams!! To go along with that, both teams had two individuals in the top 10.  Ruby D and Stella B both raced to the finish and ended with the same time to take 2nd and 3rd overall, while Cole B grabbed 8th for the Boys and Kjell N lead the whole field and won by over 30 seconds!!

It was a positive day and one we will want to build off of and show us some possibilities for the future.  But, we need to continue to put our time in and stay positive each week.  Next up will be the Griak Invite for our Varsity on Friday and the Milaca Mega Meet on Saturday for those that don't run on Friday.  These rosters will be posted on Sunday to give everyone time to plan.

Thanks for all of the fans that came out to support the runners!!
