Girls Pasta Party Info

Below is information on the Girls Pasta Party tonight.

 Girl

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ Tonight is pasta party #1 at the Fuller household. It’s also the high school open house/chromebook pickup. For the sake of food prep, we’d love to have everyone right after practice and they could go to the open house together later if that’s possible with schedules. I believe the open house goes until 8pm. We can get them from practice to our house (we are really close) and from our house to the open house if that works. Message me with any questions. Just in case you want to pick up early or have a middle schooler. 2250-112th Lane CR 55433

Week of Aug 29

Below is the information for this upcoming weeks practices, as well as our first meet on Thursday.  We are done with two a days and we are also starting to move our practices to regular start time, 3:15 for everyone, to help the runners get their bodies acclimated to running and racing at that time.  However, we will be practicing at 8:00am in the morning on Friday for those heading out of town.  Monday, Sep 5, we will be having a practice as well, but not until 6:30pm, once again for those that may be out of town.
If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks,
Denny

For afternoon practices for the rest of the season, expect practices to get done at about 5:00pm every day.  Now that we will be starting back at the high school for most practices, we will be adding our drills and weight training to our workouts, so practices will be closer to 2 hours start to finish.

Camp Weather

Just a heads up, due to the storm that is coming towards the Afton area, we have moved all of our runners into a safe building in the park. We will stay here until we feel it is safe to go back to our camp site.

Pasta Party Schedule

The current Pasta Party Schedule is now posted on the right side of the blog.  There are still a few openings, (Boys for the first meet, and Boys and Girls for the Conference Meet) so if you are interested, please let me know. When we get closer to a date we try to get directions out to everyone, but usually the runners will hand them out at practice.   Also, and this is more those that have done a pasta party in the past, we should put together some basics that we can post on the blog as well for anyone that may want to host a pasta party but does not know what to do or what to expect.

Lastly, a quick fundraiser update, our season goal was $4000 and after a day and a half we are already over $4500!! Great work to everyone, but there are still a few that have not created a profile.  The way I look at it, if we are able to raise more, then we can use that money towards the purchase of new uniforms as well when that time comes, which will be in the next year or two.

Thanks,
Denny

Additional Camp Info

As we get going on the week and finalize some things for camp in 4 days, there are a few things that we are wanting to make sure are taken care of on our end.

Here is a list of parents that have mentioned they will be going. We are probably going to need a couple of more as just drivers to help with getting the runners to camp.  If I missed someone or what they are planning to do, please let me know:
(29 runners are going with)
Ben (staying) and Sara Fuller (not staying, helping with dinner on first night)
Rob Martinek
Terry (staying) and Jasmine Ludwig (not staying, helping on Saturday)
Brad and Aimee Bone (staying, possibly meeting us there)
Mark Smith (staying)
Chouchee Kue (helping on Saturday)

Also, I can take up to 4 runners if needed.  Coach Jerlie may be meeting us there as well.  But, if you would still like to come along or would be able and like to drive some of the runners, please let me know.

Lastly, we know we have some athletes that have allergies and other dietary restrictions, so we would like for everyone to fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdZZesbmaXlI8krcHqYgxskvxmy4WiGxLZ7jtxK6LcJlM6z5w/viewform?usp=sf_link  If your runner was with this summer, they do not have to do another one.

Thanks and if there are any questions, please let me know,
Denny

Running Camp Information Aug. 26-28

Running camp is a week away and we felt we should inform everyone that is going some of the items to look for and bring for the three days of running.

We will be heading to Afton State Park, on Friday, August 26 around 10:00am and it will be a cost of $20.

The drive will be around 50 min, depending on traffic.  Cell phone coverage should be decent out there.

Some items that should be brought with include:

-          A towel, bathroom items

-          Sleeping Bag/Pillow

-          Tent (We will share tents, this will need to be set up soon so we know who is to bring one)

-          Bug Spray, Sun Screen

-          A water bottle or two.

-          Stuff for swimming (no lake but a beach along the river.

-          A pair of warm up pants or jeans for at night

-          A sweatshirt or jacket

-          Clothes to run in, including shoes.

-          For food, dinner will be covered.

-          The runners should bring items for breakfast, lunch and snacking as well as beverages (to cut down on garbage, think of bringing a water bottle and mix packets, not cases of bottles) for all meals. Also plan to share a cooler with others.

-          Other items that can be taken with include games, music, etc. Please remind your athlete that we are only going for 2 nights, 3 days, so a ton of stuff is not needed, think about sharing coolers with other runners.

We will be leaving camp around 11:00 on Sunday the 28th and should be arriving back at the high school around 12:00.

Any questions, please feel free to call me

Thursday Cancelled

Looking at the weather things are looking too sketchy to hold a practice, so we are going to cancel.  We will be at the CR Dam on Friday morning at 8:00am.
Thanks,
Denny

Thursday Evening

We are currently still planning to have practice tonight, Thursday, but we are keeping an eye on the weather and will make a decision at 5:30 if we will still have practice. If I do not make a post, we will practice.
Thanks,
Denny

Fundraising

We will be starting our fundraising next Tuesday, August, 23rd, using the company Snap! Raise.  This is a company we have used in the past and have been successful ($4000 in one month).  What it basically is, is a campaign that is created just for our program that then gets sent out to the email addresses that the runners have put together asking for funds.  It eliminates the door to door selling of an item or purchasing something that someone may not want and allows people/relatives that may live far away the opportunity to contribute and contribute as little or as much as they would like.  All the runners will need to do is enter email addresses of people they would like to ask funds for as well as post a link to our team Snap! page on any social media they may be a part of, to ask for donations.

The one question and concern that most people have in regards to this type of funding is if the company will be using these email addresses and that people will be getting a ton of spam in their email.  They will not.  The company will not be selling these email addresses and they will be used for this campaign, and this campaign only.

Below is a link to our team page for Snap! that the runners will need to go into and set up their profiles and get their emails prepared as well as the info sheet that we were given and handed out to the runners at practice today.  As mentioned, everything will start on Tuesday, but we would like to have everything set up as soon as possible.  Also, this will be a campaign that will be open until Sep 20th, so if someone is not able to donate right away, they will have time.

Lastly, we would like to aim for the $4000 range again this year.  Those funds will be used to help purchase a timing system that we would like to purchase for the use in practices.

If there are any questions, please let me know,
Thanks
Denny

Thursday Practice

There is a slight change in practice on Thursday. The Activities Director would like to talk with the runners and wish them the best on the season, and would like for us to be there at 7:45. If you are not able to get your runner there by that time, not an issue.

Thanks

Denny

First Week of Practice

Here are the times and locations for the first week of practice.  I will be giving out a more detailed schedule as well as other information to the runners after the first practice Monday.  Evening practices will have a different focus, mainly recovery, weight training, and a little more fun.  We understand if not everyone can make these practices due to family obligations, but they are still important practices.

If you have any questions, please let me know,

Thanks
Denny
